Mark 3

Its interesting to see how it describes that Jesus was moved by the 'stubborn hearts' of the people, he was angry and deeply distressed. He knew their hearts were not open but that they were looking for any opportunity to stop Him.

Mark 2

I love the determination & care of the friends of the paralytic to get him to Jesus. Yet Jesus' response was not what they expected: "Son, your sins are forgiven." Jesus demonstrates that He is indeed the Son of God.

Mark 1

People are so hungry for (and in need of) a Saviour. Jesus ministered in power & authority and the people could not stay away; "And the whole city was gathered together at the door."

Matthew 26

As a child I remember being very challenged by the story of Peter dnying Christ, I remember being moved emotionally by it, or was it the first stirrings of the Holy Spirit in my heart? How often do we `deny Christ' by not acknowledging his friendship and power in our lives?

Matthew 28

Thank God for the resurrection. Death has lost its sting!

Isn't it amazing that some doubted even though they were WITH Jesus on the mountain? May God enlighten our hearts that we may see Him ever clearly.

Matthew 27

All throughout the Gospel Matthew is clearly searching the Scriptures to see the prophecies that were fulfilled in the life of Jesus from His birth to His death.

What an awesome point in history as Jesus yielded up His Spirit. Such strange things happened marking the beginning of the New covenant that even one of the soldiers declared
"Truly this was the Son of God!"

It only appears in Matthew's gospel but even the dead were raised & appeared to many after Jesus' resurrection!! How awesome!

Matthew 26 v36-74

How true ring Jesus' words at times when we come to pray: "The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” May God strengthen us as we remember what He did for us.

Matthew 26 v1-35

You wonder what is going through the disciples mind and how they handled the things Jesus is telling them; predicting His crucifixion & burial; predicting their stumbling and a betrayal; delcaring a new convenant. It must have been such an intense time.

We have the blessing of reading it all in the Bible but this was all new to the disciples. They were ordinary men walking an extraordinary life with the living God.

Matthew 25

As we serve others we serve Christ.

Matthew 22-25

Although not posted for a while, been reading sporadically, so here is a catch up!

22

Jesus is so wise as he answers his enemies. How we should learn from this.

23

Harsh words again to the Pharisees, but then contrasted with his description of the Hen and her brood. He looks after us!

24

This chapter really brought it home for me about the persecuted church. And how blessed we are in this country not to experience the suffering our brothers and sisters throughout the world experience.

25

What a challenge! Are we storing treasure in heaven? What will Jesus say to us on THAT day?!

Matthew 24

"stay awake", "be ready"... Jesus is coming back and may He find us ready, in the right place before Him.

Matthew 23

Jesus is very direct in challenging the leaders, exposing their sin in such a no-nonsense way.

There is a challenge from this chapter: Is what we do outwardly based on the reponse of others or out of our relationship to God? Do we really allow God to be at the centre of our lives?

Matthew 22

Are we really doing the greatest commandment? Thank God that it is LOVE and not LAW that he desires of us.

Matthew 21

Its great to see the children 'crying out' & praising Jesus in the temple.

Its so important that we are bearing fruit in the Kingdom of God.
